You might ask: "What exactly is The Kreeos?"  It is a fictional mystical power whose attributes have changed as the concept evolved over the years.  While many might claim that our Kreeos seems too close to that of another far more famous sci-fi franchise, we can say that there is even more involved than "The F****".  My lifelong friend and fellow KU founder Kerwin S. Ivey first coined the term back in the mid-90's and it was from then on, an accepted name.
The Kreeos has possessed several descriptions and definitions according to which "universe" it appeared in.  Within the Eagles Timeline, where it was originally featured, according to the encyclopedic entry in the woefully outdated Galactic Compendium:

The Kreeos: is an almost magical power that emanates from a higher universal plain.  It is uncertain which dimension this is, as the earliest records have been lost.  This power was first realized by the ancient Cosmic Lords, who called it the "universal stream".  In this alternate dimension, one of pure energy, a creature of pure thought and unimaginable power exists.  This being is believed to inhabit every cubic nanometer of its home dimension and its power "trickles down" through the various lower planes until reaching what is known as "real space".  Only a portion of the power arrives here, usually in bursts from an interdimensional rift near the world of Hast'Bren in West Quadrant.  These bursts of Kreeos energy enter the galaxy every four to six centuries in the form of a "quantum storm".  These storms spread out over the Great Spiral with incredible speed, often taking only a few years to cross the width and breath of the galaxy.

Certain inanimate objects can absorb Kreeos energy from each passing storm, and this can be utilized by a Kreeos adept to activate his or her ability to manipulate the power.  This "activation" can also occur directly during a quantum storm cycle.  Beings that receive the Kreeos can manipulate the energy to do a multitude of things depending upon the total amount of energy (permanently) absorbed and the user's natural abilities and learned skill.  Objects that absorb or can influence the Kreeos are also routinely utilized by Kreeos adepts to enhance their already existent power.
Primarily, there are two factions of Kreeos wielders: bright magic users and shadow magic users.  Those that have obtained a large amount of power and degree of skill are referred to as masters.  Beings, generally forevermen (immortals), with this amount of power are often called Kreeos lords.

The Kreeos does has one limitation shared by mortal users.  With the exception of the Hast'Bren species, this power cannot be directly (genetically) passed on to succeeding generations.  If an offspring is Kreeos adept, then he or she would need to experience a quantum storm or possess a Kreeos saturated object in order to realize that ability.  The first method is uncommon for most short-lived species, given the span of time between storm cycles.  Those races that live on the order of several centuries or more hold increasingly better chances of encountering a Kreeos giving quantum storm.

Then there is the revamped definition of The Kreeos, as taken from various excerpts of the current Terrans TimelineLegacy of the Terrans book series.

The Kreeos was a mystical power some mortals, and all immortals (Forevermen & Dark Forevermen), could tap into.  It was often described as the residual energy left over from the Almighty’s (a.k.a. God's) very act of creation, almost an “echo”.  In fact, the power had been known for thousands of years and given various names down through the ages; Breath of the Almighty, Breath (or Blood) of the Great Star Dragon, Power of the Cosmos, and such. The Celestial Beings – the Almighty’s “angels” – called it The Cosmic Stream.

The Kreeos allowed for an abundance of enhanced abilities – physical, metaphysical, and psychic, to name a few – and was broken down into two categories.  Bright magic promoted the will of the Almighty; to love all life, seek to aide those in need, and oppose evil wherever it was found.  Shadow magic was a perversion of Kreeos power used by the selfish for their own gain – often to a fatal end for common mortal adepts.

This corrupted “underside” to the Kreeos first came into existence shortly after the creation of the Cosmos when a high ranked Celestial Being named Setha conspired to have the Almighty’s lesser life forms worship him and his new followers as gods and began spreading evil influences across Creation until stopped by the Almighty.

Seemingly the lifeforce of Creation itself, the Kreeos was considered a gift by some and a curse by others.  Its use even by benevolent, well-intentioned people could ultimately lead to corruption if one is not under the guiding influence of the Almighty.  Within the will of the Great Star Dragon, as the Almighty was often known by more primitive cultures, Bright magic was an unstoppable force that would always prevail.

To the wicked of heart, the Kreeos was a birthright, an inherent tool to be used to exploit the universe.  Such was the path of Shadow magic.  Though powerful, it was not an opposing force equal to Bright magic, merely a shallow, corrupt "shadow" with the false allusion of invulnerability and unlimited power.

A Kreeos adept can sense the conscious presence of the magic within others.  It appears as an encapsulating aura, pale blue for all levels of Bright magic, deep purple or violet for Shadow magic, a light shade of lavender often signifying that the adept had been instructed in Shadow magic practice but rarely uses the Kreeos maliciously.

Granted, these explanations may seem underwhelming in their level of information, but this preserves more of the "mystery" of The Kreeos, even given the differences between the Eagles and Terrans versions.
