OTHER WORKS

This section contains a selection of non-Legacy (i.e., not Terrans/Eagles) works I have written over the decades dating all the way back into high school.  Many are science fiction themed poems, of all things, but please enjoy this sampling of items from different time periods in my life.  There are, however, a few "Eagles" themed pieces that don't appear in any of the original manuscripts, so I included them here because in a way they stand on their own.  Many of these works can be found in my collection entitled Whims of the B-Man published in 2021 and available at Amazon.com.

The following is sadly the only surviving example of this earliest decade.

The 1980's...

THE ARMADA OF ONE

Across the heavens the starship does roam.

She is trillions of miles and three years from home.

The fifty crew members all feel mighty low,

As they remember their home the planet Estralego.

In orbit of Estralego, construction took nine years,

Through many a death, sweat, and tear.

By decade’s end the ship was ready to go.

The energy sails spread to catch the solar wind’s blow.

Nearly half a mile long and a thousand feet wide,

The vessel crosses the cosmos with a steady glide.

To meet a great need, an enormous necessity,

As far away as possible must the starship be.

Though the crew is small, the cargo is quite a load.

With this they must flee, for soon their sun will explode.

In the far reaches of space there are a million worlds to reap,

As the starship carries a thousand people in a deep sleep.
